Pipe fitting - Edinburgh

Pattress Systems Ltd was engaged to complete the replacement of external waste pipe systems across nine multi-storey flat blocks in Edinburgh. This project was the first phase of a larger scale ongoing initiative to enhance building safety, longevity, and visual aesthetics.

The works involved:

  • Installing new external waste pipe fittings on four-storey buildings.

  • Using cast iron fittings for the lower 2.5 metres to provide enhanced durability and protection against impact.

  • Installing lightweight, rust-free M&C plastic pipe clips (pipe bands) above 2.5 metres for long-term performance and ease of maintenance.

  • Safely removing and replacing old, corroded pipework with a modern, secure, and low-maintenance system.

This project delivered a significant improvement in both safety and reliability, replacing unsafe rusting pipes with durable, rust-free alternatives. Pattress Systems Ltd’s expertise ensured efficient installation and full compliance with building standards, while minimising disruption to residents.
